The avenue Hotel, Old Langho, were very helpful returning a coat left in the room, didn't want paying so we agreed a donation.
David was such a warm and gentle uncle who loved a good chuckle! I remember the ‘funnies’ videos he used to amuse us (and himself) with, playing ‘categories’ games with a ball outside at Barrow Combe with the cousins, teaching us how to play computer games like Tomb Raider and the Incredibles, how David didn’t like mornings and would wake up and drink black coffee (which we thought was very funny and sophisticated when we were children). He taught me that a dog walk can also be a trip to the pub (fantastic) and that in fact it didn’t even need to include the dog. I also remember an exciting trip down the motorway in a sports car with David - with heated seats! He had a wide variety of very good jokes which he would share over a meal ‘or a meringue?’, and a special philosophy on life. When visiting us in London, David got to meet Charlie and they bonded over sharing memories of growing up in Africa. Rest in peace David xxx
